Celebrating today the 100th birthday of Dylan Thomas, the most - TopicsExpress

Celebrating today the 100th birthday of Dylan Thomas, the most recognizable Welsh poet of the 20th century. He is a favorite of mine for a number of reasons: I have some Welsh ancestry, we both, in our youth, drank at the same West Village bar- The White Horse Tavern- where he supposedly downed 18 scotch and sodas on a summer night in 1953 and went home to Brooklyn and died at age 39. Im not ordinarily a poetry fan but his words just seem to resonate with me. His most recognizable poem, Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night contains the following phrases that stand the test of time. Do not go gentle into that good night/ old age should burn and rave at close of day/ Rage, rage against the dying of the light. If your interested, you can listen to him reciting some number of his poems by googling Poet-Dylan Thomas-All poems of Dylan Thomas. ENJOY
