Celebrity Gossip Sony releases The Interview over the holidays: After Sony Pictures first canceled the Dec. 25 release of The Interview amid terror threats, the company backtracked on Tuesday, agreeing to offer the film to select indie theaters and certain online outlets. The Interviews Seth Rogen, who co-stars with James Franco and co-wrote and co-directed the film with Evan Goldberg, made a surprise appearance with Goldberg at a 12:30 a.m. showing of the movie in an L.A. theater on Thursday, Entertainment Weekly reports. Thank you so f---ing much for coming, Rogen said. We thought this might not happen at all. According to The Huffington Post, the film opened in more than 300 theaters on Christmas Day and drew sellout crowds. Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter have split: While director Tim Burton and actress Helena Bonham Carter never married during their 13 years together, the pair did have two children – son Billy, 11, and daughter Nell, 7. On Tuesday, PEOPLE confirmed that Burton, 56, and Carter, 48, who met when Burton directed Carter in 2001s Planet of the Apes, have split. They separated amicably earlier this year and have continued to be friends and co-parent their children, Carters rep told PEOPLE. We would ask that you respect their privacy and that of their children during this time. During their union, Burton and Carter worked on several movies together, including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Alice in Wonderland and Dark Shadows. Sources say Amanda Bynes is acting normal: After asking for her release from a psychiatric facility at the end of October, actress Amanda Bynes seemed to continue her string of erratic behavior, sending nonsensical tweets, dying her hair purple, and joking about killing her parents. Since mid-December, however, Bynes, 28, may have turned things around, according to PEOPLE. Bynes tweeted on Dec. 17 that she was interested in transferring to the University of Southern California to study psychology and on Thursday tweeted a photo of herself with brunette hair. Sources tell TMZ Bynes is acting normal, off medication, and reducing stress through yoga, meditation and reading. The change, sources say, has allowed Byness parents to give her some access to her bank accounts again.
