Celeste Teal: Astrological Trends on the Horizon Saturn in Sagittarius Greetings! On December 23, 2014 Saturn enters Sagittarius. Saturn dips back into Scorpio briefly, from June 14 to September 17, 2015, during its retrograde cycle. Upon re-entering Sagittarius on September 17, 2015, Saturn will be transiting through Sagittarius until December of 2017. A subscriber requested I write on the topic of Saturn in Sagittarius and what we might expect. Sagittarius is related to the Ninth House of long distance affairs. If we go strictly by the books, this pre-notes aviation disasters, disasters to vessels at sea by storms or collisions, and many deaths thereby. We would expect storms and loss of life on the coasts, shipping strikes and trouble in foreign trade. All matters connected with the Ninth House will be under Saturns cloud. If Saturn is afflicted the trouble worsens. The last time Saturn transited Sagittarius was roughly 30 years ago, from late 1985 to late 1988, minus a brief interval from February to June of 1988. While I expected to find many historical accounts of aviation disasters during that timeframe, I was surprised by the number. Early 1986 is when the Space Shuttle Challenger exploded, killing all seven astronauts aboard. Around the world there were airline crashes and disasters while this period also saw the worst peacetime sea disaster when the MV Dona Paz sank after colliding with an oil tanker in the Tablas Strait in the Philippines, killing 4000. Shortly before, Typhoon Nina smashed the Philippines, with a death toll of more than 1000, while a tsunami hit the Gulf of Alaska. Now, when Saturn forms favorable aspects while in Sagittarius, this will benefit the elderly and landowners. (Saturn has special influence over the produce of the earth.) Mainstream, conventional or officially supported religions and their functionaries will gain money, power and influence. Commerce and shipping will gain in value, while positive political reforms can come about. Banks would see benefits through improved systems and methods; including care and prudence. The first major aspect Saturn forms to an outer planet is a square to Neptune, influential by early 2015; notable by late Feb. Delay may hamper foreign commerce. Losses may be experienced abroad, while an important movement in home politics could experience a setback. There are likely discredits attaching to the Police, state administrators or municipal officers. Stocks and investments may be affected. We can take up Saturns condition and aspects on a monthly basis to find just what is signified and I will report on this in my U.S. Forecast & New Moon Reports, which you can read in my Lunations column. In the meantime, I know you also want to know how Saturn in Sagittarius may affect you based on your Sun or Rising sign. I have challenged myself to write a one line description for each sign. Here we go: Aries: You may travel for business, pursue education or publishing activities, have practical philosophies. Taurus: Shared money and resources are in focus. Learning self-reliance and appreciating others values. Gemini: Experiencing heavy demands in close personal relationships requires great effort. Some may end. Cancer: Heavy work responsibilities and a demanding boss. Pace yourself. Maintain your health. Leo: Pleasure pursuits take on a serious note. Learning favored. Gambling not favored. Children in need. Virgo: Putting forth efforts in family and home life; possible repairs. Secure your base of operations. Libra: Serious thinking, mentally organized, cautious speech. Study deep subjects. Deep discussions. Scorpio: Concern over material possessions and earning ability. Be economical. Dont worry too much. Sagittarius: Introspective. Learn about yourself; strengths and weaknesses. Restructure your foundation. Capricorn: End of a cycle. Complete old projects. Observe your accomplishments. Cut any losses. Aquarius: Measuring how effectively you have worked to realize your goals. Responsibility in friendships. Pisces: Test of leadership potential. Make an impression in the world. Reap results of past preparations. Read both your Sun sign and your Rising sign to get the most information from the above brief list. Saturn is not a bad guy but he does like to teach and test us. Mostly, he likes to bring order.
