Celtic Kirtan Chant by Stefan Andre Waligur. Kirtan is a form of ecstatic call-and-response chanting of hymns and mantras of praise-sometimes with story telling and acting; which is a wonderful aid to meditation and contemplative prayer. Although similar to Taize chants, these new chants incorporate American rhythms and harmonies, Celtic melodies and the call and response style of Indian raga (songsofpeace.net/about.html). I would love to see more opportunities for contemplative prayer practices, meditation and kirtan style chant in church community prayer life.
