Cen-Tex A.R.C. is a private non-profit 501.3(c) organization providing opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). At this time Cen-Tex A.R.C. Waxahachie Region is accepting applications for DIRECT CARE STAFF for the Group Homes in Waxahachie and Red Oak. Each group home provides a caring family atmosphere for the six individuals who live in each home. It is a place where those served are taught living skills; money management, cooking, health care, and social awareness by skilled staff 24 hours a day. DIRECT CARE STAFF job description: this position requires the employee to provide direct care services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a structured residential setting/group home. Responsibilities include completing formal and informal training with each resident, providing assistance with all activities of daily living including medication observations, monitoring the individuals, personal hygiene, housekeeping, food preparation, transportation, recreation and leisure skills, following behavior management programs, and completing necessary documentation as needed. Direct Care Staff will assist residents and ensure the home remains productive, clean, comfortable, and a safe environment for all residents. Direct Care Staff are viewed as a positive role model for the residents we serve and must follow all Cen-Tex A.R.C. policies and procedures at all times. Potential Employees may pick up/fill out an application at our Cen-Tex A.R.C. Waxahachie Region Office located at 100 Industrial Drive Suite A Waxahachie, TX 75165 between 8am - 4pm, Monday thru Friday. All applicants must be at least 18 YEARS OLD, PASS A BACKGROUND CHECK, and have a VALID TEXAS DRIVER’S LICENSE. Applicants must provide their TEXAS DRIVER’S LICENSE, SOCIAL SECURITY CARD, and PROOF OF EDUCATION (I.E. High School Diploma or GED) at the time the application is submitted. If you do not have a High School Diploma or GED, you will be required to have 3 references complete questionnaire packets on your behalf and must pass a reading comprehension exam. If you are CPR CERTIFIED, please bring your card!! If not that’s ok, once hired, employees will attend a CPR class for certification provided by the company.
