Centerlink is as close as you can get to limbo on earth. Its where souls go to turmoil in perpetual queues, bound in shackles of bureaucratic red tape. A place of eternal judgment, where by those willing to trade in authoritarian questioning of character are gifted with the bare necessities of survival. Just enough to ensure their likely return the following week. A gift from a society that has failed them, an economy that hasnt provided, a system that strangles them with interest rates, employment figures, inflation numbers, and indexes that bare no relevance to where breakfast comes from or how rent gets paid. A state where humans are treated as players in a zero-sum game, as if by taking the crumbs from the pie, they have some how stolen from those who baked it. Problem being the cook book is cooked, the ingredients only grown on the highest branches of the tallest trees cherry picked by those who by circumstance inherited a cherry picker. Talkback radio, current affairs programs, and shitty papers owned by billionaires whos hearts are likely made of cogs and gears, would have you believe these limbodians were simply lazy, bludging, society drainers. NOT TRUE. They are our brethren, our ilk, and members of said society. If they are supposedly failing as individuals, what does that say about how we, as a people, are doing as a whole?
