Central Florida Christian Film Festival to Feature Two Local Actors Whose Movie Roles Include Lila and Eve starring Jennifer Lopez and Viola Davis, Letters to God, The Spectacular Now, and A Measure of Faith ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. February 12, 2014: The Central Florida Christian Film Festival, taking place Friday, Feb. 21 through Sunday, Feb. 23 at the Altamonte Chapel, today announced Orlando actors Whitney Goin and Stephanie M. Williams will participate in the Festival by serving on a panel to discuss Christian filmmaking, financing a movie, how to break into film, and script writing. The panel will take place Saturday, Feb. 22 at 2 p.m. The actors also plan to attend the Festival receptions on Friday and Saturday evenings. Best known for her work in Christian films The Spectacular Now, Letters to God, and A Measure of Faith, Goin is currently filming in the star-studded (Jennifer Lopez and Viola Davis) movie being released next year, titled Lila and Eve. Williams, who was also in the movie A Measure of Faith, has performed in theatre productions of Steel Magnolias and Don’t Dress for Dinner. Held at the beautiful Altamonte Chapel campus at 825 SR 436, the event is open to anyone for $5/day, or a VIP pass for $15 for all three days, and will be filled with three days of movies: Friday 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Film Screenings Noon – 25-person chorus performing 7 – 9 p.m. Reception (pianist playing) Saturday 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Film Screenings 4 p.m. – Jam Fest (bring your instrument to Jam) 7 – 9 p.m. Reception (praise bands performing) Sunday 9 a.m. and 10:30 Worship service and continental breakfast 1 p.m. awards ceremony and winning film showing at the Altamonte Chapel. Created by an esteemed team of local film producers, publishers and journalists, the Central Florida Christian Film Festival is designed to encourage the production of quality Christian films as an alternative to the R-rated films that fill today’s box offices. “We are trying to change the culture one film at a time, encouraging the production and distribution of quality family-friendly Christian films,” said Brian Cline, executive producer of Christian Films. “The Festival also provides quality filmmakers that much-needed opportunity to meet contacts for production, screening and distribution of their films,” Cline added. At the Festival, qualified filmmakers are offered an opportunity to showcase their films, and meet avid moviegoers, distributors and other motion picture professionals. Distributors, publishers, and screenwriters will be in attendance as well. There are multi-tiered cash prizes for the winning entries, sponsors and media partners will be making additional services available for future movies as a part of the prize package.
