Central Park of Culture and Rest (CPC&O) on Elagin Island were presented us a lot of interesting events in the last years. The one of the brightest and expected event, undoubtedly, is the fourth International Festival of Street Theatres Elagin Park. In less than four years of its existence, thousands of citizens and tourists appreciated the sincere atmosphere of creativity and unusual performances which artists present. Street theaters from Europe together with Russian teams have been engaged all visitors who are coming in the Elagin Island in these days to the fantastic journey through the invented world of dreams and fantasies. During the three years lifetime of the festival artists from France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Netherlands, Estonia, Australia, Poland, Czech republic, Ecuador and Belorussia performed there their spectacles. Theaters from Samara, Moscow, Ekaterinburg and Saint-Petersburg presented Russian Federation. This year the festival will begin on the 25th of May with the events leading up to the main programm. Every evening in the Central Park and some urban areas, it will be possible to see the first performances, to hear live music and to take part in master-classes of street art. Also all have a chance to win free tickets and to get more information about the festival program. The official opening ceremony will take place on the 30th of May at Friday. Near the metro station Krestovsky Island will meet again bright and noisy crowd giving the first performances with music to go to capture of Elagin Island. The organizers have done a great job and this year we will see again live performances from all over Europe, covering a range of different genres of street art. The most large-scale statement will held by the well-known Polish theater “Osmego Dnia”. The main character of the performance The Ark is 40meter skeleton of the ship where all events of this action are developed on its background. The performance exists more than ten years without losing its expression and relevance which citizens will be able to estimate. Two completely different teams will arrive from France : the “Fai” team- alien masters of tricks on stilts and pathetic theatrical street band “La Rhinofanpharyngite”. Six meters dinosaurs of netherlands` theatre “Close-act” will be replaced five-meter giraffes from the last year festival. The spanish group “Residual Gurus” will disperse incendiary music of their unusual instruments, and the german “Dulce Compania” does not pronounce any sound because all actors won`t have heads. The lithuanian “Klaipėda Castle theatre” will create the most mass departure, but southern-bohemian “Kvelb” will arrive together with Christmas angels. General favourites are responsible for continuity and constancy: russian-german groupThe fifth wheel (“Pyatoe Koleso), from Mogilyov Artel of comedians (“Artel Komediantov”) and from Samara The plasticine rain (“Plastilinoviy Doshd”), and first signs of the Ural Mountains becomes from Tyumen Mimicry (“Mimikriya”). A warm welcome to all of them are prepared great amount of petersburg companies, among them are «Studiya33», « Teatr imeni kotorogo nelzya nazvat` , Deti Tishini, Teatr Miniatyur , Furgonchik, Klounyaki , Sje Shosu, Igrishche and such masters of the genre as musicians festive orchestra Opa!, Tsirk na nityah by Victor Antonov, “Stranstvuyshie Kukli gospodina Pezho”. In general, we are waiting for more than 200 performances that show artists from 14 countries - a good company to meet the summer.
