Central pay scale, not possible before 14th FC report: Finance Minister By Our Correspondent Agartala, Nov 18, 2014 : Central pay scale for state government employees and pensioners is not possible before the 14th Finance Commission place its reports said Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha. Interacting to media in secretariat on Tuesday, finance minister said that the government finding it hard to forget the scars of the 13th Finance Commission and had a tough experience from the Pay Review Committee recommendations of raising the pay band of government employees in January, 2009. The 13th Finance Commission denied including any of the ensuing liabilities in its recommendations. The state government had apprised YV Reddy, chairperson of the 14th Finance Commission to set things right to Tripura, he stated. The 14 th finance commission which was scheduled to submit its final recommendations in October, took a month more after it experienced complexities in calculating awards separately for Telengana and the current state of Andhra Pradesh. This would the first ever calculation of finance commissions for Telengana as a separate state from Andhra Pradesh. Meanwhile Congress party had sought the Centre’s intervention to help state government employees get central pay scale. Among the 29 states of the country, Tripura government is the only state which has not given central pay scale and DA as par with Centre to its employees and pensioners.
