Central planning of an economy necessarily fails. I use music as an example. My career as a performing musician is completely voluntary and dependent on market forces. I dont make money unless people pay to see me play. How inefficient would my career be if people who had never touched a guitar but studied political science and read a few books by Marx, and werent even competent to be assistant tambourine player in a noise band, were appointed to dictate what kind of music I played, where I played it, how I played it, who I played it with, and who was allowed to listen to my playing? The music would be more lifeless than a Gulag forced labor camp after a hard winter in Siberia. I would likely give up music entirely, or if forced to continue I would likely commit suicide. The inefficiency would boggle the mind.
