Certificate award ceremony at Daffodil International University (DIU) Daffodil International University (DIU) organised a certificate award ceremony for the students who participated in the Asia Summer Programme (ASP)-2013 at Busan, Korea. Korean Ambassador Lee Yun-young was present at the function as the chief guest and distributed certificates among the participants at the DIU auditorium in the city, says a press release. Md Sabur Khan, president of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) and also chairman of the Board of Trustees of DIU, attended the programme as the guest of honour. Presided over by Prof Dr M Lutfar Rahman, DIU vice chancellor, the function was addressed by Prof Dr Md Fokhray Hossain, director (International Affairs), and Prof Dr Yousuf M Islam. Addressing the function, the Korean ambassador said the relationship and cooperation between Korea and Bangladesh will be streng-thened further in near future. Through this program DIU students got an opportunity to learn experience of cross cultural communication, personal soft skill development, confidence building, career enhancement as well as mutual friendship among the participating countries, he added. Sabur Khan said that more than 30 students will get opportunity to participate in next Asia Summer Program to be held at University of Malaysia Perlis (UNIMAP) in 2014. DIU will organise a national summer camp in Bangladesh in 2014 in collaboration with Jahangirnagar University, he added. In July 2013, 11 DIU students participated in Asian Summer Program (ASP)-2013, a credit-based program offering innovative prospect of Asia under Dongseo Asian Initiative Program.
