Chain stores vs. Mom and Pop stores. Yeah I shop at Hannaford. - TopicsExpress

Chain stores vs. Mom and Pop stores. Yeah I shop at Hannaford. Then theres Price Chopper, Shop Rite, Whole Foods, Fresh Market, Honest Weight, Save Alot (?) and Trader Joes. And then theres the Mom and Pop stores where I shop because I dont want to see the demise of family owned (small) businesses. I shop at Cardonas Market on Delaware Ave. Ragonese Deli on New Scotland Ave. Pellegrinos Deli on Central Ave. Rolfs Meat Market on Lexington Ave. Ichiban Chinese/Japanese restaurant on Central Ave. Joe Ritmos Barber Shop on New Scotland Ave. There is an Andys Import on Delaware Ave. (havent shopped there yet but will). Spectrum Theater on Delaware Ave. Madison Theater on Madison Ave. Tru Image (African American) Barber Shop on Washington Ave. and Henry Johnson Blvd. All of these Mom and Pop businesses are located in Albany. There are many more Mom and Pop stores in the 518 area code. I enjoy shopping at Mom and Pop stores because (my opinion) the product is better. A more and intimate (personal)relationship with the store owner and employees. Family owned businesses is what built America. Yeah! I am nostalgic. I dont want big business/corporate American companies to consume Mom and Pop stores. Mom and Pop helped to make America. Big business/corporate American companies sell made in China. I will never abandon Mom and Pop. The pictures in this thread represent Rolfs German Pork Store located on Lexington Ave. (between Central Ave. and Clinton Ave.). Ragonese Imports located on New Scotland Ave. near New Scotland Ave. Elementary School. Pellegrino Imports located on Central Ave. about 1 mile west of the train bridge that separates Albany from Colonie. Not pictured is Joe Ritmos Barber shop located on New Scotland Ave. near Quail St. Not pictured is Andys Import Deli located on Delaware Ave. between Morton Ave. and the Spectrum Theater. Not pictured is the African American barber shop Tru Image located on corner of Washington Ave. and Henry Johnson Blvd. There is a Roma Italian store in Latham. There is the Chinese/Japanese restaurant Ichiban located on Central Ave. near Quail St. DeFazios in Troy.
