Chairman Joe is owed an apology, and here is the audio to prove it - a recording of Amsterdams January 21 Common Council meeting, during which Controller Matt Agresta clearly states that 500 properties are currently foreclosure eligible. For anyone who has not been following this scenario, Chairman Joe was on WCSS yesterday morning answering a question from a caller regarding a dilapidated property in his neighborhood when Mayor Thane, obviously angered by Joe’s use of the facts, irately called into the show looking for a debate. Her course of action was disappointing to say the least. Ever the statesman and gentleman, Joe handled the call with grace and composure. We appreciate Joe’s commitment to his City and applaud his willingness to go on the air, and look forward to hearing more of his insights on federal, state and local government matters.
