Chamber News Feed: Somerset County, NJ: Evidence of phony $10 bills were found in the trash at a Raritan residence, along with equipment and materials used in counterfeiting money, authorities said. Ahlijuwon Williams, 39, of Raritan Borough was charged with third degree forgery, uttering a forged document and third degree attempted theft by deception, according to a joint statement from Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey D. Soriano, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of County Detectives Timothy Fitzgerald, Special Agent in Charge James Mottola of the United States Secret Service and Raritan Borough Chief of Police Kenneth McCormick. On Jan. 22, United States Secret Service agents, along with detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutors Office and Raritan Borough Police executed an arrest warrant on another person at Williams residence and found evidence of a counterfeiting production facility, including color printers and paper, the statement said. The federal agents also saw waste material indicating that counterfeit ten dollar Federal Reserve Notes were being printed in the home, the statement said. At 10:30 a.m. Friday, Williams was arrested by detectives at this residence and taken to Somerset County Jail, the statement said.
