Chamge, I am requesting for your support in our bid to build a library and buy books for #Rotik Primary School in Ndanai, a school I attended for my primary school education. It was a fine school in the standards of those days, now much the worse for wear. I was an avid reader that early, had not the room that was labeled Lib been largely empty in its shelves for all my 8 years there. I read an old Bible at home instead most evenings. Unfortunately, the same room that was called lib is still empty. You cant imagine how many kids have missed the opportunity of a better education these two decades since I graduated. I might have read Robinson Crusoe or Jonathan Swift or Mark Twain or the Arabian Nights or even Charles Dickens had they been available. Instead I didnt know there was such books. And school texts too were hard to come by. I knew it much later in life there were good books out there. How much I feel kids should read those authors! I am of humble background and so are the kids in that school now. I have you friends however who may be willing to change the fortunes of the the kids in the school and others to come. That is why I am appealing to you to join me on the 13th December to raise funds to construct a library and buy books for the school. It is a project that will change the lives of many , many years after we have forgotten about our contributions. The community will appreciate and so would I. Rotik is tucked in a corner between so many hills whose horizons marked the boundary of the world I knew then. A beautiful place obviously because it is home and because it is indeed beautiful. At 10AM, this #Saturday, beneath the Jacaranda trees that I saw grow, our parents and pupils would be waiting for us and our support. You can imagine they will be happy.
