Champion Jump Jockey AP McCoy’s reputation as the ironman of sport was once more on display as he gamely took on the Ice Bucket Challenge at Newton Abbot yesterday, to mark yet another landmark achievement in his remarkable career – reaching his Fastest-ever 100 winners in a season. Hes ridden 100 winners in 116 days of the British jumps season of which only 79 days had Jumps fixtures!. McCoy made history in November 2013 when he became the most successful jump jockey of all time when riding his record-breaking 4000th winner on Mountain Tunes at Towcester racecourse. Since then, he has continued his relentless pursuit of winners, clocking up his quickest century of winners in a season when victorious on Arabic History at Newton Abbot this evening. His imperious form and thirst for success has led many in the sport of horseracing to predict that he’ll continue riding in order to reach an unprecedented 5000 winners.
