Championship boxing in Macau ROACH, FORTUNE PREDICT EARLY KO WIN FOR PACMAN By Manny Pinol Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach and conditioning coach Justin Fortune who have been working jointly in preparing Filipino boxing icon for his Nov. 23 world title fight have predicted an abbreviated ending for undefeated American champion Chris Algieri. Fortune, who conditioned Pacquiao for his celebrated fights against the likes of Marco Antonio Barrera and Erik Morales, said Pacquiao will be too fast for the taller and younger Algieri. I dont think Algieri will go past the 6th round, said the Australian conditioning coach who once campaigned in the heavyweight division himself. Roach was more confident of an easy win saying Algieri will bow down to the power and speed of the Filipino champion by the 5th round. Algieri is good but he is slow for Manny. Manny will just have to watch out for the jab, said Roach. The confidence expressed by both Roach and Fortune was apparently shared by bookmakers both in Las Vegas and Macau where Pacquiao was placed a heavy favorite over the younger Algieri. Betting odds are lopsided in favor of Pacquiao where a $100 bet will win only $15. Roach said Pacquiao will have two more sparring sessions, on Thursday and Saturday, before flying to Macau on Monday.
