Chance The Missing Now Found Black Lab that was Ejected From a Multiple Vehicle Accident on I80 Snow Shoe, Pa. The Story of Bringing Chance to Safety: Chance was lost to us since the morning after the car accident on I80. We did not have any sightings since Tuesday morning and both sightings we had were both on interstate 80. We knew that we had to keep pushing the flyers. If you lived in Snow Shoe and wore hunting orange this week you probably got at least one flyer! We knew that we needed him off of the interstate and if we were not getting sightings on 80 he was probably in the woods along the interstate. The hunters can cover a much bigger area than we can. Finally, one of those flyers gave us the break we needed. We handed a flyer to a nice man checking his mail and he said he will take them to his three neighbors as well. One of those neighbors called us with that lucky break! We received a call from a Snow Shoe resident named Bob Dreibelbis who stated he had dog prints all over his patio and back yard in the fresh fallen snow. He opened his back door to investigate and there was a black dog there. The dog ran in the woods. We then got another call short time latr in the same area of a dog carrying in a yard dragging a broken leash. This was not far off the interstate and was very secluded so perfect place to be Chance. The only part of Chance that was found in the wreckage was the handle to his leash so the broken leash comment also was encouraging. Our team and the owners went to the location but all we found were prints. We immediately had food set out for Chance and by the time we got back with the trap the food was gone. We then got a trap and cameras set up as well as the owner scent all over that area. Since we were set up at Bobs house he so graciously et the ownerss of Chance reside at his house so they could be close in case Chance returned. They had to retrieve some items from their hotel and Chance returned. He took his owners sock that we left near a tree and left a few pretty pictures on our trail camera. Now we knew that this was Chance by the pictures and that we are close to bringing him to safety. Today Chance came back again and his owners were waiting. After multiple attempts of just talking him in his Mommy Darsh sat down and started singing to Chance again and he ran out of the woods into her lap! We were not there to see this because we only wanted the owners leaving their scent in those woods since we were so close to saving him. They followed all of our messages and instructions perfectly as we walked them through the process. We have said it before and we will say it again flyers work! Owners being involved and working hard with us helps! Spreading the word and sharing our post work. This dog was lost in the middle of nowhere. The owners were lost in the middle of nowhere. They didnt know who to reach out to or what to do but we still were able to recover this dog together. They said having this accident in small town Snow Shoe has restored their faith in the goodness of people. They said they have lived all over but had to come to Snow Shoe, PA to find that goodness still exist. We have so many people to Thank: The owners for never giving up and having faith in us. Sandra Richcreek for being our guide and being Chances personal Chef. For the residents of Snow Shoe for letting us look freely for this dog. To Bob for letting the owners reside at your house and making them meals while they were there! To the people who volunteered to help this week. To Bonnie from Bellabons Pet Recovery for her never ending advice. For all of you who shared that orginal post that was viewed 105,000 times. Thank You and Welcome Home Chance!!!!
