Chance of Showers and Thunderstorms Tonight 1. There is a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms to develop late tonight into early Friday morning. If these storms develop, some of them could be severe. Central and south central Louisiana would have the higher risk for these storms. 2. This weekend will be hot, with highs in the mid 90s. 3. Next week with have slightly above normal temperatures, with highs in the lower 90s, and just isolated showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. 4. There is a small chance for tropical cyclone development next week in the southwestern Caribbean Sea and Bay of Campeche. This will not create any weather impacts locally next week. NWS Lake Charles
