Chandigarh Administration Home Department Notification No. 627-HIII (7)-2009/2208 5th February, 2009 In partial modification of Chandigarh Administration, Home Department, Notification No. 6105-HIII(7)-2008/20096 dated 23rd October, 2008, the Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh, in exercise of powers conferred by Rule 118 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules 1989 and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, is pleased to make mandatory the fitment of speed governors (Conforming to the Standard AIS : 018, as amended from time to time) by the Chandigarh Transport Undertaking in its buses and by the operators of all school buses. The Administrator is further pleased to direct that the speed governor shall be so set that the vehicle is incapable of being driven at a sped in excess of 50 kmph except down an incline and shall be sealed by the Secretary, State Transport Authority, Union Territory, Chandigarh 2. These orders shall come into force with effect from 21.3.2009 Ram Niwas, IAS Home Secretary Chandigarh Administration Chandigarh Administration Home Department Notification No. 627-HIII (7)-2009/2199 5th February, 2009 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 112 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, the Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh is pleased to rescind the Home Department’s Notification No. 6105-HIII(7)-2008/20454 dated 31st October, 2008. The Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh is further pleased to substitute the entry against item No. 1 (d) in column No. 2 in Home Department’s notification No. 16167-HIII(2)-95/21261 dated 23.11.1995 with 50, with immediate effect.
