Changdeokgung (창덕궁) was the second royal villa built following the construction of Gyeongbukgung in 1405. It was the principal palace for many Joseon kings and it is the most well-preserved of the five remaining royal Joseon palaces. The palace is well preserved and has buildings blending into the surrounding natural landscape. Among several areas, Huwon(Secret Garden) is one of the most popular tourist attraction because its the only rear garden of any Korean palace.
