Change happens everywhere and to everyone..... Including the places of our childhoods. I was born and reared in Prestonsburg, Ky.... a small town in very rural East Ky... Along the Big Sandy River. One of 7 children, born into a coal mining family. My grandparents were very hard working farmers and miners. We watched them grow 80% of their food..... Im talking about the 60s and 70s... We never locked our doors, cars, or hearts; open to others and we were givers. We were taught to be strong, become educated, and love our family and friends.... What more can a child ask for??? Yes, change has come to our little part of the world, as it had everywhere. I love East Ky, my roots are there, my family is there, and many memories are there.... many, many good people still live in those valleys; the beauty there is priceless.
