Changed all my pics because it is the fifth anniversary of the passing of Howard Zinn, one of the most generous people Ive ever known. Even as it became difficult for him to grip a pen toward the end of his life, I never saw him turn down a signature on a book or leave a book signing early. He understood with great humility that it would truly matter to people to have a word with him and get a signature, or share a quick word about Emma Goldman or Fanny Lou Hamer and SNCC.
