Changing the European debate: Europe and the world: Since 2010, the Hertie School of Governance (Hertie School), the London School of Economics (LSE) and Stiftung Mercator have cooperated to create bi-annual symposia and public research projects in honour of Lord Dahrendorf. In the spirit of Ralph Dahrendorf’s own example, these efforts are concentrated on bringing the European debate on key issues in society forward through social science research and engagement with policymakers and with the public. The first two cycles of research concentrated, respectively, on the debates on Europe’s institutional and political future and on the issue of human-made climate change. In the third cycle (2015-2016) the focus is on the relationship between Europe and the rest of the world, especially its border zones (Russia and Ukraine; Turkey; North Africa), and the core regions of the world economy (East Asia with a focus on China; North America). Current Vacancies The Hertie School of Governance is offering the following positions which are related to the Dahrendorf research projects next cycle Changing the European debate: Europe and the world: Two postdoctoral fellow positions (f/m), full-time Four research associate positions (f/m), half-time More details about the calls for applications are available here: dahrendorf-symposium.eu/ and here: hertie-school.org/jobs/
