Chanukkah is going to be here in just one week. As I have mentioned before this is one of my favorite times of the year. Melanie has already begun stocking our cupboards with traditional foods, she is playing all the Chanukkah music already and has polished off the Hannukiah. One other tradition my family has had is this book linked below. For those of you who have small children, we highly recommend it. It is a story that places the reader in the time frame of the Maccabees. Melanie and I would read a few chapters to the boys every night after lighting each nights candle.It is a lengthy story so you will need to break it up into 8 nights.
