That the flesh of a sin offering and guilt offering shall be eaten. (A, C) Ex. 29:32 And Aaron and his sons shall eat the flesh of the ram, and the bread that is in the basket by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. 474. That one not of the seed of Aaron, shall not eat the flesh of the holy sacrifices. That every sacrifice be salted. (A, C) Lev. 2:13 And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meat offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt. Wed. Aug. 28 479. Not to offer up any offering unsalted. (N, C) Refer to Command 478. 480. That the Court of Judgment shall offer up a sacrifice if they have erred in a judicial pronouncement. (A, C) Lev. 4:13 And if the whole congregation of Israel sin through ignorance, and the thing be hid from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done somewhat against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which should not be done, and are guilty; 14 When the sin, which they have sinned against it, is known, then the congregation shall offer a young bullock for the sin, and bring him before the tabernacle of the congregation. Thurs. Aug. 29 481. That an individual shall bring a sin offering if he has sinned in error by committing a transgression, the conscious violation of which is punished with excision. (A. C) Lev. 4:27 And if any one of the common people sin through ignorance, while he doeth somewhat against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done, and be guilty; 28 Or if his sin, which he hath sinned, come to his knowledge: then he shall bring his offering, a kid of the goats, a female without blemish, for his sin which he hath sinned. 482. To offer a sacrifice of varying value in accordance with one’s means. (A, C) Lev. 5:7 And if he be not able to bring a lamb, then he shall bring for his trespass, which he hath committed, two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, unto the LORD; one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering. Fri. Aug. 30 483. Not to sever completely the head of a fowl brought as a sin offering. (N, C) Lev. 5:8 And he shall bring them unto the priest, who shall offer that which is for the sin offering first, and wring off his head from his neck, but shall not divide it asunder: 484. Not to put olive oil in a sin offering made of flour. (N, C) Lev. 5:11 But if he be not able to bring two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, then he that sinned shall bring for his offering the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a sin offering; he shall put no oil upon it, neither shall he put any frankincense thereon: for it is a sin offering. Sat. Aug. 31 485. Not to put frankincense on a sin offering made of flour. (N, C) Refer to Command 484. 486. That an individual shall bring an offering if he is in doubt as to whether he has committed a sin for which one has to bring a sin offering. This is called a guilt [trespass] offering for doubtful sins. (A, C) Lev. 5:17 And if a soul sin, and commit any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the LORD; though he wist it not, yet is he guilty, and shall bear his iniquity.
