Chapter 224 – January Meeting Notes and Ride Report – 1/18/14 The first Chapter Meeting of 2014 began at 9:00am at Motoworld. Doughnuts and coffee awaited the group as we filed into the waiting lounge for the meeting. Chapter business consisted of selection of officers for 2014, upcoming events, talking about future rides, potential fundraising rides, and of course, the reading of the Chapter charter documents and signing of same. Some of the highlights from the charter include items related to attendance and determination of voting eligibility, chapter rosters and other minor changes that were discussed during the reading. One suggestion was made and agreed upon – Golden Acorn Casino for the $7.77 prime rib. Doesn’t take much to convince this group to ride a good distance for a decent meal. We headed out on Hwy 94 to Cameron Corner for a break. Found out that the restrooms in the Circle K have been closed to the public, so porta potties it was for those that needed them. From Cameron Corner we headed up Buckman Springs Rd. to Olde Hwy 80, heading east until we reached the Golden Acorn. We had a nice lunch and talked about future meetings and rides. Kimberly is scheduled for shoulder surgery next month and won’t be able to participate. Kathy Carpenter will lead the February meeting in Kim’s absence.
