Chapter 5 The Gathering of the woodland people often was an affair that would last months......very much like a potlatch or a powwow......lots of business as well as new treaties between the various groups were made or old ones renewed. This was a time to rebuild....a barn raising....so to speak and it was fun for most everyone and very much like the little people in the tale of Rip Van Winkle on the Hudson River .......the noise raised often sounded like thunder and sent fear among the coastal human tribes....but it was all in fun........and we shall continue this story later!
