Chapter 60 Weve waited for what seemed like forever. Still no sign of him, they were starting to loose their cool, I tried to keep them calm I mean weve come to far to mess it all up now. It was now 3h30, school was out, yeah he knew how to punish I give him that. Maybe he was testing us trying to evaluate our apology. This was the last straw of torture! At exactly four he came down, didnt even check around the premises, in that fine broken Brown suite, black long pointy shiny shoes, that English nose couldnt have been bigger. He gave nothing away, he pulled a straight serious face. We couldnt tell what it would be, all sweating, nervous the tension scratched the atmosphere making an irritation to our ears. He stood, in front of us. We maintained our attention position. Waiting for him to talk. Principal: Be here 6am tomorrow With that hehe turned on his heels and left, we stood there mouths on the ground, ears dancing to the music his shoes made. We stood for a while not knowing what to do, whether to go or not. No one said a word, after that long draining day we came back to reality, slowly taking our bags and headed out the schools premises. We still said nothing to each other, my friends followed and we went. Got to the bus, climbed in and it took off. We couldnt even look at each other, to say we were tired is an understatement. I got home my mood was utterly drained, I just headed for my room, took off my uniform and headed for a long hot bubble bath. Luckily they cooked, I wasnt hungry but I felt like I needed to boost my energy levels and so I aint. Who knows how my day will be tomorrow. Went straight to bed without indulging in any conversation with anyone. Tomorrow morning I was the first to wake up, got everything that I needed including two lunch boxes. I went to mums room to ask for money, to my surprise she gave me without any questions. I took it and left. But this was torture, getting to school at 6am? We live in different places, far from school, normally people like me would take the half past five bus to get to school atleast at half six to seven being early in any case but now here I am taking the five am bus and had to rush to school without dragging my legs just to meet the six am. But Im pretty much sure that some learners took a 4am bus. The torture in this ne :-/ We were all punctual, but the principal was not yet there. He assigned the security guards to ensure that everyone signed a register with his or her arrival time. They then led us to class, we got in aware of the camera and so we sat quietly in our rightful places. It was quarter to seven when There was an announcement from the intercom. Attention, I received a report saying all of you arrived on time, congratulations. You all have passed and earned points. I therefore acknowledge your apology and accept it. Your timetables will be sent out during your register period, further details will be said during that period. For now, enjoy. Me: wait is it me or he just said enjoy? We were rejoicing they came to hug me, you did it!
