Character admire /Theme / Moral Values I choose Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne .( The character that I admire is Phileas Fogg) . The theme in the novel is determination . This theme is shown in Phileas Fogg . / The moral values that I had learnt in the novel is kindness . This moral values is shown in Phileas Fogg ( I admire Phileas Fogg because he is determined person). Phileas Fogg determination is seen when he succeeded in proving to his friends at the Reform Club by wining the wager . Although he faced many obstacles like bad weather conditions and being jailed by Detective Fix for being the bank robber , he was calm and found ways to solve his problems by continuous the journey . Due to his sheer determination , he had won the wager . (Besides , Phileas Fogg is kind ). Phileas showed kindness to many people . He showed kindness when he save Aouda , a rich merchant ‘s daughter from the bandits . He felt that he needed to save her life because she was in danger . Then , he also saved Passepartout and the passengers of the train when they were kidnapped by the outlaws . Next, he was kind to help Aouda to find her cousin , Jeejah Jeejebhoy in Hong Kong and when he had migrated to Holland , he told her to follow him on his travel . Last but not least , I admire Phileas Fogg because he is disciplined . He wants everything done with perfect timing . For example , he wakes up at precisely eight o ‘ clock in the morning and has breakfast exactly twenty three minutes later . In a nutshell , ( these are the reasons why I admire Phileas Fogg .) The example above show the theme of determination in Phileas Fogg . / The examples above show the moral values of kindness in Phileas Fogg . I really enjoy reading the story .
