Characters in novels may always seem to be highly attractive and seemingly perfect, but perhaps this portrayal is seen because our characters see each other that way. We all find different people to be more attractive than others, and admire different colours and sizes and shapes. So maybe we should stop looking at the protagonists love interest and thinking, Ugh, perfect again and concentrate on the fact that it is the protagonist seeing them as highly attractive, not necessarily everyone else too. A good way to show this in your writing is for another character to express their thoughts. E.g., Hes okay looking. Nothing compared to _____. Maybe theyre more universally attractive, or maybe not. If not, try show this so your readers arent frustrated by having an exceptionally beautiful character in every book they read. -Gabryelle
