Charging rites for new Malateña y Malateño (how residents of the district of Malate, Manila are called, hence our adoption of said namesake) members of the club, the first order or procedure during induction rites in every Rotary Club of Rotary International. Although there is no specific rule (or maybe I might have not have seen or read any) in the conducts of charging, it is preferable to have the conducting officer or person ideally be as a past-president for the issues being raised during the process pertains mostly of how and what is expected from an incoming member as he embraces the duties, responsibilities, rudiments and requisites needed while embracing the family of Rotary, and that of the club. Members being charged are asked to stand in line and should listen to the charging officer or person while s/he provides the litany of dos and donts in Rotary, as well as being a good member of the Rotary Club. After hearing the entire piece during the charging rite, the speaker will now address the incoming Rotary Club members, After hearing all these, do you fully understand them all and are you now prepared to join the family of the Rotary Club of Malate Prime, District 3810 and Rotary International? Incoming members are expected to give a loud reply: YES! Thereafter, the charging officer or person will now refer to the inducting officer or person: Having heard your resounding affirmation, Madam/Mr. President, your new members are now ready for their induction.
