Charity Baby massage-a-thon this Thursday at 11am with Leemore Blitzblau-Butler in the centre! Read on for more details.... This month sees the launch of Baby Massage Ireland’s Baby Massage Week 2013. Instructors from all over the Country will raise awareness of the benefits of infant massage between 21st-27th October. The highlight of this week will be the Baby Massage-a-thon, where parents and babies can attend events locally. Their participation will count towards a national total. In 2012 our tally reached over 1,800 babies massaged in our classes within that one week. The benefits of massage are abundant and they last a lifetime, from easing wind and constipation, colic relief and helping digestion to regulating sleep and enhancing bonding. The classes give you the opportunity to meet other parents and have some one-on-one time with your little one in those precious first few months, and most of all they’re fun! Who might come to the Baby Massage-athon? You might have done a baby massage course with Active Mum previously, or with a different instructor. You might have never done a course before and want to see what a baby massage class is like. This is a great time to try! Mums, dads and other carers are all welcome. What will the event be like? The event will be rather like a baby massage class. There will be opportunities for chat and discussion with other parents, and we will do as much of a full body massage as the babies feel like. There will be tea, coffee and biscuits afterwards, as well as the following: bring and take table (bring any unwanted baby items and take any that you like away) About the Charity We have selected Snowflakes as our chosen charity. They offer support to families with autistic children and are based locally here in Dublin 15. Baby Massage-athon Details Day: Thursday 24/10/13 Time: 11:00 -12:30 Venue: Dublin Holistic Centre 28 south, William st D2 What to bring: your baby and two towels; any unwanted items for the give and take table. Admission: a voluntary donation of €5 or whatever you can afford would be welcome. All proceeds to Snowflakes charity.
