Charles “Opie” Olsen, 47, of El Dorado, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at the Medical Center of South Arkansas. He was born Nov. 1, 1965, to Robert F. Olsen and Carol Ann Martin Mitchell in Los Angeles, Calif. He was a member of College Avenue Church of Christ and was employed by Perry’s Body Shop. He was a Nascar fan and enjoyed fishing, bowling and most of all time with his family. Survivors include his mother, Carol Ann Mitchell of El Dorado; his father, Robert F. Olsen; three sisters, Leilan McAllister and husband Roy of Newark, Ark., Christine Ramsey of Cabot, Ark., Wendy Ely and husband David of Los Alamitos, Calif.; three brothers, Sean Mitchell and wife Joni, Dewey A. Mitchell, and Morgan L. Mitchell, all of El Dorado; several nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews; and his buddy, Bondo. Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Young’s Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, at College Avenue Church of Christ under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors with Kent Jobe and Jason Baker officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be William Crowder, Brett Garrett, Ashley Murray, Andy Perry, Kenny Paul Prothro and Kevin Ramsey. Honorary pallbearers will the employees of Perry’s Body Shop.
