Charles wanted to go to the Air Show in Columbus today, so took him there and picked up our grandson Micah, along the way. The walk was long so plopped him in the wheelchair and walked a long way.Thank goodness Micah was there to help me push! They had a great airshow - stunt planes, stunt helicopters, skydivers, parachuters, but no one can touch the Thunderbirds! To me they are totally thrilling! When they started flying I was out of my seat clapping, laughing, and cheering them on. So much training, so precise, so impressive, so truly beautiful!! I grew up in Memphis watching the Blue Angels....always loved them. As a child I always loved airplanes, and still do. When I was a small child in Florida, we lived close to an air base. The planes would fly over and I would always run outside and wave. Pretty soon they started dipping their wings at me and waving back, which thrilled me. Then one day, several of the pilots came hunting for me, the little girl who always waved. They found me, and gave me a big teddy bear they had brought me. What a thrill.
