Charlie Chaplains speech in The Great Dictator (1940) - Dont let the Hitler garb fool you - this is a message for Humanity! Never forget the Holocaust and the people who died and those who survived. I was so surprised by a family member who watched Holocaust with me. In tears, sobbing, she said Im so happy that didnt really happen. Jumping from the couch in shock, I told her IT DID!!! Didnt you learn that in school??? She hung her head in shame and not knowing... she said We were taught that Hitler was a bad man, but not that he DID all this..the concentration camps, the hundreds of thousands who died, the children...the horror! Teachers, take note. We MUST NOT FORGET nor sweep this under the rug. Our children deserve the truth...because of the lack of importance of Hitlers fiendish actions...do you think they will not ignore the same actions going on today??? Remember and teach....keep them aware of what can happen today...and is happening today!!!
