Charlie Chaplin is said to have said, Life is a tragedy when seen in close-up, but a comedy in long-shot. This is the essence of our faith. Although suffering and death come to all of us in this lifetime, love and joy triumph in the end. Jesus can reveal His wounds to us and draw on the infinite reservoir of love that He established through His suffering and death, but the light of His resurrection and the glory of His ascension assure us that all of our tears will be wiped away, all of our sadness will be turned into joy, and all innocent suffering will be transfigured into glory.
