Charlie Watts doesnt mind if the Rolling Stones call it a day Drummer Charlie Watts admits that age is playing a major role in the Rolling Stones winding down. The band kicks off its 14 On Fire Tour on February 21st in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Watts, whos now 72, spoke about the Stones staggering the recent road treks, telling The Australian, This is short compared to what weve done before, but it needs to be, I think, at our tender age. The thought of doing 50 shows, which was normal at one time for us to sign off on, that is quite daunting. Now were doing that in little bits. If we dont do any more Ill be quite happy with that. As the Stones finally become more comfortable celebrating and marketing their past on CD and DVD, Charlie Watts finds it hard to believe so much time has gone by for the band: Yknow, three decades just go like that, really, when youre there. Youre looking going, its stretching in front of you forever, isnt it? Its just, I mean, its something Ive enjoyed that Ive done, yknow? Its difficult to explain.” upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/9/90/Charlie_Watts_on_drums_The_ABC_%26_D_of_Boogie_Woogie_%282010%29.jpg/800px-Charlie_Watts_on_drums_The_ABC_%26_D_of_Boogie_Woogie_%282010%29.jpg
