Charlie has had a really good 24 hours, his best since the transplant actually. His pain has been managed, his nausea less and he even had the energy to enjoy playing. He hasnt been able to spend an entire day happily playing with Carter and his cousins or friends in a very long time due to pain. It makes my heart happy to see him and Carter happy. Dr C told Charlie a few weeks ago that he deserved a transplant gift. He instructed him to pick out something he has always wanted and that we would buy it for him for being such a trooper. I dont believe this was anything we discussed with Dr C prior to him offering this to Charlie, but who could disagree that Charlie deserves a special treat :) Last week, we took Charlie to Toys R Us to do some car shopping. This remains one of his only trips outside the apartment, other than to the hospital, in the past month. He had so much fun test driving all of the power wheels and eventually decided on a police car. Today, the car arrived in the mail and Charlie was ecstatic! Roger and Gus assembled the car and Charlie has been in it all day long! It was even more fun having cousins here to enjoy the new car with. We all needed a day of fun and to see Charlie enjoying something so much! We could say thank you every day for the rest of our lives and it would not be enough to express our appreciation to all of you who have supported us along this journey.
