Charlie has his moments where he can really be a stinker, especially as we enter into this new tween phase of life. Lately he has been very mouthy and pushing every boundary he can, but he surprised me yesterday when he talked about befriending a new kid who just transferred to his school/class. Just hearing how he reached out to this child, and all the things he has already done to make this child feel included made me see that regardless of the tests he gives me, Im raising a child who has genuine compassion, empathy, and a huge heart. In the scope of things, Id say thats most important.
