Charlie update, March 26th Charlie had the first blood draw of 2014 on Monday, March 24th. The last blood draw, doc visit was in mid-December of 2013. On Tuesday, the 25th, he had an appt. at Jax Camp Mayo with the head cancer doc. This is the doc that’s been handling his case since 2011. The doc had great news-Charlie’s blood work looks great and he’s doing fine!!!! All of his numbers are higher than December’s labs. Some are even in the normal range!! Others are still low, but much higher than they were. The doc said he was very happy with how Charlie is doing and to just keep it up. No med changes. Charlie’s next blood work/doc visit will be in 3 months. Since December, Charlie has had a flu shot and a pneumonia booster shot. Those shots are what started his immunization schedule. New blood system, has to be immunized. His next shot will be in mid-April. It will take at least a year to get all the shots in. His bone marrow system is totally engrafted with the donor marrow and his blood type has changed to the donor type. So all is going as it’s supposed to!!! We are very thankful to have made it to this stage of recovery and sure appreciate all the thoughts and prayers from everyone. God’s answered the prayers and we thank Him for the answers!!! Charlie is gaining strength every day and is getting back to normal everyday life. We cruised again with Mickey and gang back in February. Charlie is traveling to Lakeland, FL to attend Sun n’ Fun air show. He and Milford will be broadcasting live from there on the 5th of April. He’s also been able to work on things around the house/yard/shop too and will be back working on the Cub soon!! After the last couple of years, he’s ready to get on with life! Thanks again for the prayers. Stay tuned to more Charlie updates in the future!!! Laurie
