[Cheap Oysters in Market 市場平食生蠔] - 請按See More看中文版本 I always say I love going to markets, and this time I went to Borough Market for lunch. Borough Market is one of the oldest and most renowned food markets in Central London. You can find a wide range of British and international produce there. For my entrée, I went to an oyster restaurant* and slurped a few fresh oysters. There were two oyster species to choose from – Gigas wild rock oyster which is originated in the Pacific and grown in UK for just over 40 years, and Colchester native, a species found by the Romans 2,000 years ago. Personally I prefer Gigas, which has a succulent, crisp texture and a sea-salty flavour with a bit of sweetness. The oysters went extremely well with the prosecco I get from the wine shop next door - They are simply a perfect match. As for the price of the oysters, they range from GBP1 to GBP2 each, depending on the size, so its really good value for money! One final tip: Remember not to add anything other than lemon into your oyster; otherwise, you will ruin it! *I called it restaurant just because they have tables and seats provided. Its actually more like a store. 我常說我最喜歡逛市場。今次我就來到倫敦市中心的Borough Market,當地其中一個最古老,最著名的市場,主要銷售本地土產及來自世界各地的食物。 一到埗,即食生蠔作前菜,有源自太平洋、在英國本地只生產了40年的Gigas野生石蠔,與及來自Colchester、由2000年前羅馬人發現的生蠔可供選擇。 個人比較喜歡野生石蠔,豐富海水味而味帶甘甜,口感爽滑,配合隔壁買的意大利汽酒實在是享受。 至於價格方面,每隻生蠔按大小只1至2英磅不等(約12.5至25港幣),太平了! 最後溫馨提示,切勿加檸檬以外的任何醬汁,以免破壞蠔本身的鮮味!
