Check It Out Come March kick another one off of my Rock and Roll bucket list. Although his name has changed through the years-Johnny Cougar, John Cougar, John Cougar Mellencamp, or just plain ole John Mellencamp from Seymour, Indiana- his music has remained timeless and true. For all of its simplicity and repetitiveness, “Small Town” is the little ditty with which I most closely identify and not so secretly “used to daydream” I had written myself. No other song encapsulates my heartfelt feelings of home better than this one.
