Check in time. We of course had a great day. The sun was soooo hot, but their was a slight breeze so very nice in shade. Decided to start day with workout and swim, seems to be becoming a routine. As breakfast was included relaxed afterwards downstairs. Havent even left the hotel yet and we have been busy. Walked in the heat around town. Pakse has only 70 odd thousand people living here, so walking around the town centre only took a few hours. Found some more fantastic markets and brought some new very cool denim shorts, all the rage here. Lol.... Christian Curtis and Apple of course brought more dvds..... hmmm Apple then navigated us around town some more and to a restaurant for lunch. Ate baguettes and lemon juice, very big french influence here.... we had a lovely local sit down with us at lunch. By the time he left, we had arranged for him to pick us up tomorrow and take us south to see two waterfalls and the river dolphins. Very good deal of course lol... he is a guide for the local travel company and is doing this on the sly for cash... we checked out the actual travel company and he did give us a great deal, so day planned tomorrow. As we were sitting, we spotted a temple across the road. Must visit of course. Walked in and found the monks having their free medical and dental check ups done in the main temple. Very cool to watch a monk getting drilled by a dentist while standing in his robes, leaning on an ornate pillar, with a bucket in his hand to spit the blood into. Surreal moment. We walked around the grounds and found ourselves being blessed in a smaller temple with 3 jade buddhas. We recieved the usual bracelet for good luck. When we got back to our room, put all my other blessed bracelets on. Today reminded me of these. Ended the day with a great dinner, over looking the friendship bridge and glowing large gold buddha in Thailand. The Mekong River is just there, close enough to touch. Enjoy the pics
