Check out The new Tech Moto G review | Cheapest Smartphone That you Should BUY Motorola is one of the company who makes phone which actually changed the smartphone world, that what we believe. Motorola has made phones like Razor, Droids and more but we never thought that company would make device like Moto G. Motorola recent device which was the Moto X, a quite good phone to be honest but it didn’t have latest hardware to meet the standards of the flagships which are present in the market. Moto G is a new launch from the company but this time the main motive was to provide a budget phone with some latest tech in it. Moto G is the second phone that came into light we felt like getting a phone like the Samsung galaxy S2. I believe this phone is the cheapest and the best phone if you are looking at your pocket and going for a device to buy. Moto G prices at $179 for an unlocked version and this is the only reason that Moto G comes under the cheap phones’ niche like Samsung or Micromax. By looking at the device no one could tell how cheap is the mobile phone due to features which are present in the phone, it’s good for an average user. Moto G Review: Design. The Moto G looks plastic and to be honest with you, the whole phone is plastic. The covered back that simply advances the comfort in the hand. Only 143G phone with the thickness of 11.6mm which is of course heavier and thicker than the other phones available in the market. As we said the phone holds very well and feels astonishing comfortable. The screen is 4.5 inch which is not to smaller than the other flagship which are available in the market. We really understand that the phone doesn’t look great and has not got many good elements to it but still it has a basic smartphone design which works well while holding it in your hand. We believe that the era of removable backs is gone but Motorola has tried to recover the same by giving 19 different backs packs for the Moto G so that you change your phone’s look many times. The front of the phone is not protected as there aren’t pulled up cases to protect the screen but you can’t expect many things in a phone costing at such price. The basic buttons placement is held on to this phone as you would be able to find volume rocker key on the right edge of the phone and the power button/ sleep button is near to the first placements. The headphone 3.5 mm jack is sits on the top and there is a USB port below. On the back there is a Motorola Sign which has always been a trademark of the company. There is Nano layer of water resistant that could simply save the phone from some water splashes and also keeps the power connection away from some water issues that is faced by many users in day to day life. The battery is non removable which is common in many flagships which are available in the market. There is no Micro SD card slot which makes it limited to memory, there is no NFC and No 4G or support for wireless screen streaming. Moto G review: Display. The Moto G screen is the best part of the phone as I believe that the company has spent the while budget on the display itself. The phone has a 720p resolution screen with the pixel density of 329 which is higher than the Samsung Galaxy S3. Many phone available in the market many offer you the 1080p resolution but there are very lees which would give you such high pixel per inch. The Moto G scree is so sharp that it allows you to read the small text in browser so clear that you would never doubt the decision of buying this device. We have played games on it, read pdf and browsed many sites and trust me it looks very good compared to other devices in the same budget niche. As we have said in the past as well that the resolution is not everything there should be quality in the phone’s display and this is the only reason that we like this phone. Moto G has got a nice vibrant screen which really pushes the phone is queue, it has got IPS display which is same as the HTC One and the IPhone 5S. As the colors and the contrast of the phone, you can surly give it a shot as it delivers the more than the expectation, there is a Gorilla Glass 3 protection which is absolutely missing in phone which shares the same price tag. The protection makes the phone durable to pressures and impacts that a day to day usage includes. Moto G Review: Specs, Hardware and Performance. Let’s first check the specification of the device. Moto G Specification Elements Network 2G and 3G Display 4.5 inch LCD IPS Screen with the resolution of 1280 X 720 with 329ppi. Gorilla Glass 3 protection Camera Rear Camera – 5 Megapixel Front Camera – 1.3 Megapixel Video Capture – 720p NFC No Bluetooth Yes, 4.0 Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n Operating System Android 4.3 jelly Bean Chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 CPU 1.2 Ghz Quad Core GPU Adreno 305 RAM 1 GB As we said this device is an attempt to satisfy people who never wanted to pay much for a Mobile phone and Motorola’s attempt to satisfy their needs is only and main element that we are seeking, the device has not got much in it if we just look at the inner components of the device. Motorola doesn’t give much options like it did in the Moto G but surly provides much by offering back panels to the user. The phone still has the Snapdragon 400 chipset which is not a powerful component if we compare it today’s world. The CPU clock is set to 1.2 GHZ and offers a Quad unit for processing things for the user, the Quad core processors have become common in today’s smartphone and we really feel the need of them as we many applications and multitasking to do on the 5 inch screen as of average. In the design section itself we clarified that this device doesn’t have the NFC option which is not so important today but would be tomorrow. The camera of the phone is not looking which is understood by looking at the spec sheet itself. Here are some performance reports. Moto G Review: Camera. The new Moto G has a camera of 5 megapixel which has an f/2.4 lens which not well. The camera app is one of the Motorola’s Software which means this is no default, its customized. The phone Camera UI is simple as it not loud but it’s sober. There is mode selection which looks like the nexus 5 but doesn’t match anywhere near to it. The mode section design is a type of dial which makes it easy for users but as I said no matter you choose a right mode or wrong the picture quality is not good. You can choose HDR mode, Turn on flash or set it to automatic, you can switch to Widescreen and normal mode or even turn on the Slow Mo video. You can also take Panorama pictures and tag them according to geographical position. ISO and exposure feature might not be able to present their selves but trust me we hardly set them. The image quality of the phone which cost just £130 cannot be good as the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini or HTC One Mini but we really appreciate that Motorola has tried each and everything on the software’s part to deliver. The camera lacks saturation and click glum photos, there is also an issue with the light as whenever the scene contains light element, it never fixes the exposure thus results in gloomy clicks. It’s a 5 megapixel camera which means you can expect great quality in zoomed scenes but the normal quality which is an average situation clicks doesn’t deliver the expected. The camera is like Wildfire S’s one. Here are the samples Moto G Review: OS. It is self-understood that the new android devices would come up with the new android version and as of Google has launched its android 4.4 version which is the KIT KAT, Motorola Moto G is not the device which would make you feel that you own the latest. Moto G runs on the Android 4.3 which is one step behind the latest android 4.4. you won’t be able to find much difference in the stock android 4.3 and the Motorola’s android 4.3 which is present in the Moto G. you would be able to notice Motorola’s Logo on the boot animation and the camera app is also different than the default. The operating system of the Moto G is not awesome in terms of the look and the customization hat the company did to the phone. People looking for something new in the new Motorola’s device would not be able to get as it’s just normal and average. You would not able to find any bloat ware in the phone which common in android handsets, it’s CLEAN and SOBER. The only apps you would find is the Google apps like Movies, magazines, Music and more. As the device doesn’t have enough inner components to handle much but we are sure that it can handle much stress. With the new OS that the device offers There is Motorola Assist and the Moto migrate feature present in the phone which are best functions that the phone deliver. The Motorola Assist lets you do many things and is like a perfect assistant for your phone. You can silence phone during the night time or you can set the time. You can also select contacts for a certain behavior. It will also snooze any type of reminders or alarm when you are in a meeting. This app could be a replica of many apps that call themselves an assistant but trust me this is one of the best application that we have seen in android market or phone’s sole apps. Motorola Migrate is the second best feature as it allows you to transfer contacts, media and internal mobile data to any android device. This feature is great for transferring things from your old phone to the new phone but this won’t work with the Windows phone or iPhone. This is similar to Stock Android 4.3 and there is no fancy columns that you can facilitate. The Verdict. We believe that Motorola has done a great job in developing Moto G, it has great display which is missing in many phones which lie under the same category. There is protection to it as well which saves many people’s money as many of them tend to drop the phone or smash it due to their day to day life. The Design of the phone is basic and the quality of built is average, it is understood as the phone is cheap and it would be silly to expect a great or aluminium built. The Operating system of the phone is only one step behind to the latest which seems much fare to us. It doesn’t have any bloat ware which eliminates apps confusion. The Camera of the phone is defiantly not good but as I believe that could deliver to an average user and this is the main motive of the phone, to deliver to an average user.
