Check out the latest Track by Track from The Lovebirds... Track by Track - Episode #6 Cry WRITING: This song was written by Veronica but inspired by Lindsay. Veronica was in a rough space and couldn’t get any tears out. All Lindsay said was “cry baby, cry” and the flood works came. This song came shortly after. The song lyrics are pretty straight forward. It is all about the drastic, delusional, paranoid, euphoric, desolate, daunting, fear-filled ups and downs of living with bipolar. (For more on the topic of mental illness, please visit The Lovebirds interview with The Songstream Project at thesongstreamproject.org/index.php/shows/resilience/blessing-and-burden) PRODUCTION: Since the song is so intimate, we kept it simple with some sparse bells and keys to support Veronicas beautiful guitar part. LYRICS: The gravity from the pendulum has sadly taken course. Every time it swings down so hard it’s brought back up with such a force. All the passerbys are so surprised at the strength of each new swing. But somehow from the lows she reaches high. Struggling to sing. So she tells me cry, cry, cry baby cry. Cry, cry, cry baby cry. Cry baby, cry. Cry baby, cry. Cry, cry, baby cry. People getting off of work can say that the day was a bust. But I can document a span of five minutes changing gold to rust. Ups and downs so violent that I fear my heart’ll jump right out my throat. The ballot of my life is somehow in, but no one even let me vote. So she tells me cry, cry, cry baby cry. Cry, cry, cry baby cry. Cry baby, cry. Cry baby, cry. Cry, cry, baby cry. DOWNLOAD: https://itunes.apple/us/album/and-a-one-and-a-two/id630583579
