Check out this little beauty! Our newest patient is a Pied-billed Grebe that was admitted to FLWC after crash-landing on a roadside near Lake Wingra. A worried citizen noticed that this bird had bloody feet and was attempting to both walk and fly away from passing vehicles (unsuccessfully). We are all very grateful to the finder for his immediate rescue: grebes are not made to move on land, and it likely would not have survived! See the video below of our grebe taking its first bath during recovery.
