Check out this poem from Veteran Nick Boorman. He utilizes poetry to work through his inner demons from war and continues today down his journey of healing. Thank you for your contributions to the Anthology Nick. Please read and pass along to others. A Trout River Nick Boorman I miss my own life Plagued by a freedom undeserved Confused by my surroundings Why can’t life be like a trout river? Take place between two banks Flow at a perfect rate I dream of taking my life, Most days I’m awake and When I sleep the demons push me, closer A broke down man, A dream in mind who’s Given up searching. How can a fisherman be so patient? Awaiting a fish he cannot see, yet Have no patience for faith in which He cannot see? Lost in time battered, broken Only my Secrets prevent falling. Today I slip, unknown When I am to fall. By his wounds I am to be healed By my wounds I am to die. For more poems by Nick Boorman, please go to healingthewarriorheart.org/nick-boorman/
