Check out this wonderful message we have just received from one of Belle Vues hospitality staff who now refuses to work for them. For obvious reasons, their identity has been hidden. I am just writing to thank you for your informative page. I currently work for a hospitality agency who supplies staff to Belle View, and I have been sent to work in the restaurant there for the past month or so. This was the first I had heard about there being a dog racing stadium in Manchester. The first time I worked there, I hadnt been told exactly where I would be going, and when I arrived to the sound of the dogs barking I was taken aback and quite upset by it, and wanted to leave straight away. I talked about this with some of the other staff and they felt the same. I often hear staff there mumble to themselves things like poor dogs. A few staff I have spoken to were only given a postcode and so were under the assumption that they would be working at the hotel across the road. And then of course when you arrive you are surrounded by cute pictures of baby greyhounds etc. A colleague of mine asked whether the racing was cruel, and I said that I thought that it was but I wasnt sure of the details, which is what led me to your page. Now that I know more I am definitely not going to take on any more shifts at Belle View and will spread the word amongst my colleagues. Thank you. You are doing a great job because I dont think enough people are aware of this cruelty or would even imagine that this is still going on!
