It also would allow visitors and city residents to ride along the waterfront more frequently, he said. Sottile said it has been the citys hope for some time that trolley tracks from the Rondout district to Uptown Kingston could be repaired one day. If that happens, the mayor said, battery-operated trains could run throughout the city, improving its overall public transportation system. My question is: What happened to this plan? Now all we hear is nothing but how great this Trail is going to be. Kingston was looking towards a brighter future. Not looking backwards as they appear to be today. How sad. BUT... things can change! Thats why I wont give up on saving this railroad!! Theres more to this than meets the eye. As a resident of Ulster County for 24 years & a full time volunteer of Catskill Mountain Railroad Co. I demand to know what happened. If it was feasible back then. Then Its feasible NOW.
